I’m please to announce that I’ve illustrated Anh Do’s first full-colour kids book!
While I love black & white art, it’s been so much fun to splash out with some vibrant images, bringing Lily, JJ and their friends & family to life.
Here are some quick snaps. Note the animated lenticular cover! That’s a lot of fun, and have played up to it even more in subsequent titles (look out for those soon).
And here are the sketched character sheets for JJ (then un-named) and Lily, plus all the supporting characters from the book. There was a LOT of development before we started; way too many to show here, but it was a lot of fun designing the cast with Anh from the ground up. (Previously, I’ve worked on his series ‘Ninja Kid’, but those characters were already developed by the time I came on board.)
