Hopped Up on Goofballs!

Just a little personal piece, pencilled on the couch with a nice glass of wine, and inked the next day. I tried to keep the colouring fairly simple here; to let the linework do the talking. Sometimes I tend to go nuts with colour and shading, and I wanted to go totally flat colour here... but I blew it and added some subtle texture. I'm so weak, goddammit! Below is my original rough concept. I sketched this up properly and started a digital painting, but I felt that it lacked the energy I was going for. So I screwed up that piece of paper and started a fresh one.
